Gender Spectrum, a San Francisco Bay Area non-profit, has a mission to create gender sensitive and inclusive environments for all children and teens. That means places where kids have permission to be their full selves in terms of gender, without being harassed or discriminated against in any way. Joel Baum, Gender Spectrum’s Senior Director of Professional Development & Family Services puts it this way, “In creating spaces for every child to be their true selves, my greatest motivation is that all children grow up in a world in which all genders are valued and respected.” Annie talks with Joel about the role of families, educators, youth leaders and institutions in creating that world for all kids.
